Announcing DSpace 1.1!

We are pleased to announce the availability of release 1.1 of DSpace. Developed jointly by MIT Libraries and Hewlett-Packard (HP), DSpace is freely available to research institutions world-wide as an open source digital library system.

This new release of the software contains many new features, among them advanced search capabilities, improved unicode handling, and OAICAT resumption token support. In addition, we have fixed numerous bugs identified since the previous and have updated the documentation.

Downloading the Software and Documentation

You can download the code and documentation from the DSpace page at Sourceforge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dspace

Be sure to download the updated documentation, too, since it describes the upgrade procedure that must be performed for the new release to operate on existing DSpace installations.

Reporting Bugs

Please report any problems to the Sourceforge mailing list for DSpace developers:

Contributing Developers

We would like to acknowledge the valuable contributions of the DSpace community in reporting bugs, testing new releases, and supporting other adopters, as well as the excellent work from HP Labs and MIT developers in improving the DSpace platform.
